Delete Your Account
You can request deletion of your Museum App account at any time. Deletion is permanent and irreversible.
How to request deletion
- Go to Settings
- Select Account
- Click "Delete account"
- Read the information about what will be deleted
- Confirm your identity with your password
- You'll receive an email with a confirmation link
- Click the link to confirm deletion
30-day grace period
After requesting deletion:
- Your account is immediately deactivated (not visible to others)
- You have 30 days to cancel the request
- After 30 days, deletion is automatic and permanent
To cancel deletion
If you change your mind during the grace period:
- Log in to your account
- You'll see a banner indicating scheduled deletion
- Click "Cancel deletion"
- Your account will be fully reactivated
What gets deleted
Immediate deletion upon confirmation
- Posts and collectibles
- Museum and sections
- Server images
- Chat messages
- Comments and likes
- Followers and following
- Preferences and settings
- Notifications and history
Data that is NOT deleted
By legal obligation, we retain for 7 years:
- Payment and subscription records
- Issued invoices
- Hashed email (for fraud prevention)
This data is stored securely and not used for any other purpose.
Public content deletion
- Your posts disappear immediately
- Comments on others' content are anonymized
- Likes you gave are deleted
- Chat conversations are deleted for you (the other user keeps their copy)
Important before deleting
- Export your data first if you want to keep a copy
- Deletion is permanent and irreversible
- You won't be able to recover your username (other users can use it)
- You'll lose access to any saved content
Alternatives to deletion
Before deleting your account, consider deleting only your account content such as your collectibles or posts.
