The Pelochos were the pet of the 11888 telephone number, the 118 were special pricing numbers that began to be used in the main countries of Europe in the early 2000's. At that time they were very useful numbers as the Internet was still starting and by calling you could ask for a specific company's phone number or trade, so you could call the different companies without knowing their phone number.
The number 11888 was the owner of the yellow pages, the book that included the telephone numbers of all the companies and shops in Spain, used this information to provide it by phone and promote its number, the boom of these numbers fell completely after 2010 with the expansion of the internet in the houses and the mass adoption of the smartphones.
