This is a flat display box for official Nintendo stores that was used at Nintendo of America's N21A exhibitor. In this exhibitor you could turn these flat boxes into a metacrylate that allowed you to see the cover and back of the game.
Nintendo of America scanned the covers and backpacks of the most popular games, including Zelda 2 The Adventure of Link, as well as the first game of The Legend of Zelda, the design of the box is that of the first printing of 1988 but because Nintendo updated its quality label by turning it into a white oval, this update was added to the cover designs and manually offset, for that reason we have a much larger quality label than usual.
