This is an exclusive PSP promotional kit from the GAME video game store in the United Kingdom, you could get by booking the console in its edition PSP 1003 Value Pack from July 1 to September 1, 2005. I'm happy I got this pack because it's an extremely rare article, I got this on eBay for a good price and I haven't seen any unit before, as it's a cardboard gift it's likely that most people would throw it away.
Game announced it as "Preview Pack" as it shows an advance of the first portable console with a power similar to PlayStation 2 that would revolutionize the world. The box of the pack has the classic metal ring of PSP in relief with an amazing finish, when opening this pack we have a PSP cardboard, in the screen is the mythical Ridge Racer, which was also the first PSP game I played, then I have a lot of appreciation.
Within this PSP cardboard we have a box that includes 34 demonstration cards, 26 of them are video games that would go out with the PSP or come a few months later, the video games are: Medievil: Resurrection, Need for Speed Underground Rivals, Ape Academy, Spider-Man 2, Tony Hawks Underground Remix, Lumines, Dynasty Warriors, Metal Gear Acid, Wipeout Pure, Ancher Maclean's Mercury, Virtunis, Rat, Rat 3, Down Street, Down Street Street, World Street Street, West Street, West Street, West Street, West Street, West Street, West Street, West Street, West Street, West Street, West Street, World Street, West Street, West Street, and West Street, West Street, West Street, West Street, West Street, World Street, World Street, West Street, West Street, West, West, West, West, West, West, West, West, West, West, West, West, West, West, West, West, West, West, West, World. On each card we could see on the main face the name of the game, a brief description, its cover and the Publisher, on the opposite face we had a full-screen game capture.
It also included 3 cards with PSP features such as the Memory Stick and its speakers, and finally came 5 cards promoting accessories for the PSP of the brand GAME Ware: headphones, car charger, Memory Stick, covers, transport bags, computer cable, screen sockets, protection for UMD discs. There was also a checklist with the launch games in case you wanted to mark which ones you wanted to book in the Game and there was also a card with an exclusive offer, which allowed you to get an additional 25% of the rating that GAME did to you to buy your second-hand video games.
This Pack also included a GAME DVD with PSP trailers of some launch video games, in total there are 19. I uploaded a video with all the trailers that came to YouTube so you can see it, it's on this link: https: / / youtu.be / pntTfpeV4Jg When running this DVD a screen appeared to select the video game and watch the trailer, everything was very lively but unfortunately I didn't have time to edit a video and show this menu although you can see the trailers with the format that were played in a PSP.
Finally, this pack included an ad brochure printed in matt cardboard by Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories. This brochure, although in matt color, has some details in glossy photographic printing such as the game logo and GTA images. Without a doubt this is a high-quality brochure, GAME knew that the GTA Liberty City for PSP would probably sell millions of copies and dedicated a very well-detailed exclusive brochure indicating that it would be on sale in Autumn 2005 as the date was not yet known, it finally left in the UK on 25 October 2005, almost 2 months after the PSP was launched.
As a curiosity, in the UK the PSP had a launch price of £179.99, changing the currency was EUR 264 or USD 324. The cover shows the website www.game.net, this was the old domain of the game store chain Game, but in 2012 after a restructuring it changed its domain to game.co.uk
This very extensive and detailed description probably seems excessive to you for a simple promotional PSP launch kit but I wanted to take the time to document it well because I think it's an amazing pack and it's a piece of history from my favorite console, the first console I had and that marked my childhood.
